Create an S3 storage bucket

- [Instructor] In this video, I want to take a look at how to set up an S3 storage bucket. S3 is one of Amazon's storage types and because it's object storage, it uses the concept of buckets. So let's go ahead and create an S3 bucket. Here I am logged into AWS, and I've got the list of AWS services displayed on the screen right now. And if you look at the storage section, which you can see right here, the first option on the list is S3. I'll go ahead and click on S3, and this is going to launch Amazon S3. And you can see that I've got two S3 buckets right now. And one of the things that I want to be sure and point out up front is that my existing buckets all have DNS resolvable names. And that's important because the name that we sign to the S3 bucket has to follow a DNS naming format. And the tricky thing is that it has to be unique, not just among our own AWS account, but among all of the resources in AWS in general.
