The color scopes

In Nuke 8, The Foundry added scopes, for video work. We have histogram, vector scope, and a waveform monitor, that will be familiar to those of you, that have worked with video before. The key thing to remember, is that they're really intended for the limited dynamic range of video, rather than the extended dynamic range of typical VFX shots, for feature films. You'll find all three of the scopes here, in the Pane pop-up menu. Scope > Histogram and, Scope > Waveform and, Scope > Vector. All of the scopes can be floated. There's the Float button here. Or docked into any pane you want with the scopes tab. I'll put the vector scope, back down here. Let's start by looking at the histogram. I'll click Play in the viewer. A histogram, displays the overall statistical distribution of the pixel values, from darks to lights. These are your dark pixels here, your mid tones here, and your lights up here.
