The Shuffle node
As we saw in the previous video, the shuffle node can copy or shuffle image data between layers. They can also create new layers and even shuffle channels. Let's take a look. We'll add a shuffle node by selecting the renode, come up with channel tab, and select a shuffle node. Now you'll notice a lot of the shuffle node is ghosted out. That's because the shuffle node is actually a stripped down version of another node called the shuffle copy node. So let's see how to create a new layer using the shuffle node. You'll recall that this is the input layer, and this is the output layer here. So let's say I want to create a new layer called diffuse, and move this RGB image into that. So, I pop this up. Come down to new and I get my new layer dialog box. We'll create a new layer name of diffuse and again, I'll use the auto RGBA fill to populate all my channels. All right, we're good. We'll say, OK.
