- [Steve] This is Steve Wright welcoming you to my Nuke 10 New Features course. This course covers the latest innovations in the release of Nuke 10, and is intended for artists already familiar with Nuke. There are three major additions in Nuke 10. The RayRender node, the Smart Vector Toolset, and a new Chromakeyer node. The new RayRender node is a ray-tracing renderer that goes beyond the scan-line render node to offer true, ray-traced reflections without using Renderman. It's also able to render AOV passes such as surface point and surface normal, plus separate lighting passes like diffuse and specular in addition to the ray-traced reflection pass.
The Smart Vector Toolset is a NukeX only set of nodes that work together to track an image to a moving clip using motion vectors. First, the Smart Vector node captures motion data with unprecedented accuracy and detail. This data is then handed off to the Vector Distort node, which then warps an image to lock it to and object that's both moving and changing shape. The new Chromakeyer node is a GPU-powered Chromakeyer based on keylight. It's simple to use, blazing fast, and produces useful keys with just a few clicks.
While intended for real-time use with Nuke Studio, it's a helpful addition to Nuke's stable of world-class keyers. Join me in my Nuke 10 New Features course to quickly come up to speed on the powerful new features added to Nuke 10.
