In this video, Emmanuel Henri provides some details around where to find the exercise files and how to use them. Each video has a start and end state of the application, and can be used accordingly to follow along.
- [Instructor] To get the exercise files on the course page, simply click on the tab name exercise files then download the zip file. Then simply extract the zip file and move the folder to your desktop or wherever you want. And then click on the exercise files and then select the chapter you're on and click the start or the end state and then open up the exercise files in question. So keep in mind that we don't have the dependencies installed when we have the exercise files here.
So let me show you how to do that. So let's say for example we select something a little bit further with more files like three four. And the start state. So we have these files here. So go inside of your editor. In this case, I'm going to VS code and then in explorer, if it's not open, click here, then open folder and then go in the exercise files. So we wanted to open the start state of three four. You open that particular folder like so.
So now that we have now the directory open here, let's open our terminal by going to view integrated terminal and then do an npm install or what I usually do is npm i like so, and this will install all the dependencies related to that project and you're good to go. Please keep in mind that sometimes the code is a work in progress and if you run npm start or yarn start, if you're using yarn, the application won't run and may return an error.
This is expected and won't affect your ability to follow along.
