We can send to every connection, but sometimes we want every connection but our own.
Welcome to "Broadcasting a Message."…Part of the course:…"Building Complex Express Sites with Redis and Socket.io."…In the previous video, we looked at sending messages…to more connections than just our own.…Now in this video, we're gonna take a look at…sending a broadcast message.…Now this is very similar to what we just learned,…but it is just slightly different.…And in addition to this, we'll also start…to use more events than just one.…Now in the previous videos, we've used the omit method…to send a message to every connected client.…
Now the only downside to that…is that it included our own connection.…Now this can be redundant, as we know…what the message is, because we sent it.…So we don't necessarily need it coming back to us.…Now in this video, we're gonna see…how you can send it to everyone but the sender.…So let's start with package.Jason.…And, again, we're using express and socket.io.…We have version 4.14 and 1.5.1, the same as the others.…Next we'll move on to a server site with index@JS.…
Again, this top part is the same…
