Clothing considerations

- As an island in the north Atlantic, Iceland is subject to frequently changing weather. This is actually one of the things that makes it such a great place for landscape photography. The weather creates wonderful skies, and other conditions that can really take a photograph to a new level. Depending on what time of year you visit, and what locations you go to, there may be some specific clothing items that will make your journey more comfortable. Summertime average temperatures in Iceland range from highs in the mid-50s and low-60s Fahrenheit to lows in the low- to mid-40s. In Celcius, that's a range of about 11.5 to 16 C for the high, and 6.5 to 8 C for the low. There are exceptions to the rule, of course, and I've been photographing at the glacier lagoon on a warm day in July, when the temperature was in the mid-60s, and I could comfortably wear a t-shirt.
