- The Maps app zeroes in on your position…and finds locations just about anywhere on Planet Earth,…that is, anywhere you have an internet connection.…For WiFi tablets or locations too remote…to find a mobile data signal,…you can still use the Maps app,…but you must first save a chunk of the map for offline use.…Start your journey by visiting the spot you want to save.…Open the Maps app.…Swipe the screen to pan.…Spread to zoom in.…
Pinch to zoom out.…From the Navigation drawer, choose Your places.…You see a list of locations, your saved places or favorites,…and at the bottom of the list,…your offline maps, if you have any.…If you don't have any offline maps,…you'll see a Save button here.…Tap it to save a portion of the map.…Otherwise, choose the option View All and Manage.…Here you see a list of offline maps I've saved.…
They do expire after thirty days,…so be sure to update those locations before you leave…while you have an internet connection.…To refresh an offline map,…tap the Action Overflow and choose the Update Item.…
