- Of all the ways to banish an incoming call,…perhaps the cleverest is to instantly…respond with a text message.…It's a handy trick, it's simple to use,…once you know how to set it up.…Before I show you the trick,…let me quickly review the various ways…you can dismiss an incoming call.…First, you can just let the call ring.…This is not the best option for most people.…Second, decline the call by working the phone lock…such as sliding it to the Decline icon.…In this case, the declined call…is immediately sent to voicemail.…Third, you can press the volume key…which doesn't dismiss the call,…but it does stop the phone from ringing.…
And finally, you can choose to reply with a text message.…On this phone, slide the Unlock icon to the top of…the screen to view the list of preset text replies.…Choose a reply.…The call is sent to voicemail…and your text message reply is transmitted.…You can review the replies, edit them, or add your own.…Unlock the phone and open the Phone app.…
