The Exciter

- [Narrator] The exciter in Neutron is a great module for adding harmonic saturation to change the way the audio sounds. Now just like our compressor module, this is a multi-band exciter module and we can activate the different bands by clicking on the numbers below. We have three bands here just like our compressor again. Now, for each band we have some corresponding controls here, we have our drive which will adjust the amount of harmonic content introduced. We have a blend control for mixing the dry signal with the process signal, and then we have these different kind of saturation modes. So, tube mode is going to emulate an analog tube distortion and introduce some odd harmonic content. Tape mode is going to be a more kind of gentle mode that's going to emulate analog tape. Warm mode is similar to tube but focuses on even harmonics and retro mode essentially emulates analog transistor saturation.
