- Now we've been talking about home routers…in these last few episodes,…so I figure I better whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa for a minute,…and let's go ahead and talk about generically,…how do we deal with these guys?…There's zillions of different models of home routers…out there, but there are certain things, if you understand,…they all kind of work the same way.…In particular, the first thing you have to appreciate,…there's gonna be some kind of documentation…that comes with the router.…Now, that documentation is gonna have some very…important information.…The most important information's gonna have…is the default IP address for the router,…which on 99% of them is 192.168.0.1…or 192.168.1.1,…and it's also gonna have the default user name and password…to log into the router, because without that,…you're not gonna get too far,…and that's probably the most important thing you're gonna…get in the documentation, are those three…bits of information.…
The other thing you're gonna get on a lot of these routers…is some kind of installation media or optical media…
