- The Network+ exam covers a number…of very specific types of error situations…that you'll run into on a network.…Now, there are a lot of these objectives,…but we've covered almost all of them in earlier episodes.…Primarily because most of these errors…are really kind of configuration-type errors.…For example, if your DHCP server…is down and you get a 169.254 error,…that's just a matter of configuring a DHCP server.…However, there's a few of these errors…that really don't fit well within any configuration.…
So I'm going to use this episode…and the next couple of episodes…to cover some of these very specific types of errors.…Now, the first one I want to do…is actually, it's a funny one.…It's called MTU/MUT Black Hole.…Now, that's a typo. Sorry CompTIA, you messed up.…What they're talking about is an MTU error,…or an MTU black hole.…MTU stands for Maximum Transmission Unit,…and with Ethernet, your MTU size by default is 1500 bytes.…
Now that's great, but keep in mind that Ethernet networks…often have to connect to other kinds of networks.…
