About the Author
Nancy Muir is a professional author of over a hundred technology books and has also taught technology writing and Internet safety at several major universities. Some of her titles include Kindle Fire For Dummies, Using the Internet Safely For Seniors For Dummies, The 10 Minute Guide to Motivating People, and Microsoft PowerPoint Plain & Simple.
For approximately four years, Nancy was a partner in an Internet safety company, Look Both Ways. As such, she created courses, web content, and slideshows on various safety topics; wrote and delivered a distance-learning college course for Washington State University; gave a three-day workshop on Internet safety at the University of Alaska; and created online-safety materials for the Attorney General's office of Washington State.
Prior to her freelance writing career, Nancy was an acquisitions manager at IDG Books and a publishing manager at Que. Before her publishing career, Nancy was a training manager at Symantec Software (producers of Norton Antivirus), where she taught courses and created print and video materials in support of Symantec customers.
Nancy holds a certificate in distance learning design from the University of Washington, and several of her books have won awards of excellence from the publishing and training industries.
