How to create offsets

- Under the surface tab there are a couple of offset tools I'd like to talk about. First is standard offset surface. This offset allows you to pick either a singular face or a chain of faces to offset. You just have to make sure you have your selection intent set up to demonstrate that. So if I want tangent faces or single face or body face, I can use selection intent to pick what I want, in this case the body faces, and offset that surface. I can have positive and negative offsets. So just pay attention to the arrow head, the manipulator and make sure it's going in the right direction and simply enter in the value you want to go and select okay. Just like that. Next is, let me go ahead and hide this, under the surface operations tab, more, we have what's called variable offset. Variable offset does not allow the selection of additional faces as you can see here, there are no selections other than the initial…
