- Under the analysis tab, I have a tool called deviation gauge. When you're creating your primaries and secondaries, you want to make sure you're creating them to within a tolerance based off of the quality of the scan or the curve that you have, and the best way to do that is with the deviation gauge. You pick the surface that you've created, and then you pick the reference object. In this case, I have scan data. This is a facet body. Measure definition is just simply 3D, leave it at that. If you want to measure based off of a vector, or the WCS, you can do that. You can specify in the vector direction. For us, we'll just leave it at 3D. You can go ahead and close that out. Plots, this is the needles. Maybe you want to see where the deviations are at across the surface to the scan and this gives you a nice gradient, shows you what's going on.
