Upon completing each course, you will earn a certificate of completion. Learn how to find all your certificates of completion and how to share them with your networks.
- [Narrator] Certificates of completion make it easier than ever to share your success and progress at Lynda.com. They're a great way to let your professional networks, co-workers, current and potential employers, see the value and diversity of your skills. As you work you way through a training course an eye icon automatically appears next to each video you've watched in the course, making it easy to keep track of your progress. At the end of each course you finish, a new certificate of completion will appear on your account.
So let's take a look at the different ways that we can find and share certificates of completion. One way is from right here on the course page. Under the video player after you complete the course will be this badge and banner congratulating you on your accomplishment, and from here I can click on the LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter button, or the Publish to Profile on LinkedIn button. I'll start with this LinkedIn button, and first I'll have to sign into my LinkedIn account.
And then I have the option to share as an update or send to individuals, or both. If I want to send to individuals I'll have to type the name of connections I have on LinkedIn right here. There's an optional message I can type. For now, I'm just going to share as an update. There's an optional place to add a message here. And I'm just going to share with connections. I also have the option to share it publicly, but for now just connections.
So now that I'm done, I'm going to press Share, and this banner has appeared at the top indicating that I have successfully shared this update. So I'm going to pop over to my LinkedIn profile, I'm going to refresh it real quick, and I'll see down here in my activity that I have this course that I've shared as an update. Now going back to my Lynda.com profile I can do the same thing by clicking on Facebook or Twitter options.
And another way to share posts is from the certificates of completion page. I'll go up to my profile and select Certificates, and I'll select the Share option. And again, I have the option to share on Facebook, Twitter, or add to my profile on LinkedIn. We'll select this option this time, but first before I do that, I'm going to have to go the Link, click on the link of this certificate and copy it by either pressing Command + C on the Mac keyboard or Control + C on a PC keyboard.
Now I'll go back to this first tab and select Add to LinkedIn Profile, and here I want to click the certification name which is the course title. And the Certification Authority is Lynda.com. I see it right there, so I'll click on it. The License Number does not actually apply here, so you don't have to put anything there. And the certification does not expire, so I'm going to check that.
And I'll check when I completed this. And here in the Certification URL this is where you're going to paste that link that you copied. So I'll press Command + V on the Mac keyboard, or Control + V on the PC keyboard, and I do want to update my network. You have the option to turn this off if you prefer. So now that I'm done I'll go ahead and click Save, and now here on my LinkedIn profile under Accomplishments you'll see that I have two certifications, and the one that I just added is for How to Rock Social Media from Lynda.com.
Another option is to email your certificate, which you can do by clicking this Email link. Enter the email address of the person you want to send the certificate to. If you'd like to send your certificate to multiple recipients, separate their emails with a comma. There's an option to type a short message here, and then when you're ready click Send. And then yet another option is to View/Print your certificate.
I'm going to click on this, and this will show me my certificate of completion, and I can go up to the left here and click Save as PDF, and then I can print the PDF on my printer. So the more courses you watch, the more certificates you earn. So keep watching courses at Lynda.com and keep earning those certificates of completion.
