- [Instructor] Learning Paths are a great avenue for answering the question, "Where do I get started?" Whether you're looking to transform your current career path, jump into a brand new career, or sharpen your skills in your current job, Lynda.com Learning Paths can be your guide to success. The Lynda.com Learning Paths are groups of courses, quizzes, and practice sections that are carefully curated by Lynda.com experts. There are several ways to get started with Learning Paths.
To see the listing of all Lynda.com Learning Paths, go to Lynda.com/learning-paths. From here I can scroll and see the contents laid out in alphabetical order by subject. We have paths on 3D and Animation, Audio and Music, Business and so forth. Going back up to the top here, I can also filter these paths by clicking on this button and selecting the subject I'm interested in.
I'll select Marketing. Once I find the Learning Path that interests me, clicking on it will take me to that Learning Paths' main page. And at the top of the page here, there's a brief description of the Learning Path. There are also these outcomes associated with the path. Each has a different outcome but this one has what you can learn, what you could earn if you chose a career in this field, and the craft. If you want to preview the content in the Learning Path, click on the Preview the First Video button.
Now I have this muted but if you want to increase the volume on your machine, just click the slider up or down. So as you watch the video, it'll give you a quick introduction explaining what will be covered in this first course. If I want to view all the contents contained within the Learning Path, I'll close out here, and I'll scroll the entire list of the Learning Path. And down here at the bottom I can use these arrows to scroll through and see what authors have contributed to this Learning Path.
If I want to view some other content within this Learning Path, I can click the Preview on any thumbnail here. And then the Course Preview window pops up here. I also see the panel showing information about who the author is, the skill level, how many views this course has gotten and the duration of the entire course. If I close out I can see the duration of the entire Learning Path down here, nine hours.
To dive in and start watching the Learning Path, all I have to do is select Start learning. The first course will open in the path and start playing here in the video player. Another way to find Learning Paths is by hovering your mouse over the Library button, choosing a subject on the left here, and selecting one of the Learning Paths on the right. Each Learning Path is a little different and some have challenges and solutions you can participate in and some have quizzes that you can take directly in the Video Player to test your knowledge.
These are optional and not required but we encourage you to participate and interact with these assessments so you can find out how much you've learned from taking the Lynda.com course. And now when I get to the very end of a course, you'll see I have a couple of options that pop up in the window here. I can either watch the course again or continue learning which will take me to the next course in that Learning Path. After I start watching a path, and I go back to the Learning Path main page, I'll see these different icons associated with the Learning Path.
If I've watched the entire course, this check mark will appear. If I haven't watched it yet, it'll be this dashed line. And if I started watching it, the dashed line will turn yellow. Once you've watched an entire course, you'll earn a certificate of completion for that particular course. You can share this individual course certificate of completion on your social networks which we explore in another video in this training. Because most Learning Paths have over 10 hours of content, it's likely that you will logout after completing a certain amount of work, but whenever you log back in and go to your member home page, you'll see a banner here at the top of your member home page encouraging you to continue on your path.
You'll see how much you've already accomplished in your path and how much you have left to go. Additionally I can quickly jump right back to my course work by selecting Watch Now. This will take me right back to where I last left off in the course. Once you have finished an entire Learning Path, this is a huge accomplishment and you should share this update on LinkedIn. You'll see this Congratulations banner here at the top of the Learning Path once you finish the final video in the Learning Path.
If you click Post to My Profile here, this will take you to the certification form that you can fill out to post on LinkedIn. The Certification name will be the title of the Learning Path. The Certification authority will be Lynda.com. The License number you don't have to worry about. Choose the timeframe you completed this during and select This certificate does not expire.
And then if you want to update your network, make sure this is toggled on. If you don't you can toggle it off and then click Save. And this will show under your Accomplishments on your LinkedIn profile. We hope Learning Paths will help lead you in the right direction for developing your career path and sharpening your skills.
