A quick tour of phpMyAdmin

- Let's take a brief tour of phpMyAdmin to get a broad overview of its capabilities. I've launched my local installation of phpMyAdmin in a browser, and this is the home page. Depending on your setup, you might need to log in with a username and password to get to this page. In the Database server panel at the top right, it indicates that I've logged in as root@localhost. Root is the MySQL super user, which has all privileges, including creating and deleting databases and adding new user accounts. Localhost means that MySQL is on the same server as the one I'm currently browsing. When working locally with phpMyAdmin, it's normal to log in as the root super user because this gives you full control. On a remote server though, you normally log in as a different user with restricted privileges. Under Appearance Settings in the center, Language is set by default to English. But if you use a language other than English, you can open this dropdown menu and choose your language. For example…
