- We've seen how the search tab performs a simple text search when a database is selected. Let's see how it builds an SQL Query By Example when an individual table is selected. We're working with the up-and-running database, so expand that in the column on the left and then select the Cars table and the Search tab at the top. In the version of phpMyAdmin that I'm using, there are three buttons at the top here: Table Search, Zoom Search and Find and Replace. Zoom Search is a rather esoteric feature that plots a graph based on the values in two columns. For example, you could use it to plot a graph of the mileage for each car based on the year it was made. I'll leave you to experiment with that on your own, if you're interested. We'll look at Find and Replace later. In this video, I'm going to focus on Table Search, which is selected by default. The form for Query By Example has a row for each column.
