Other changes in phpMyAdmin 4.5
- phpMyAdmin is being constantly updated. We've already reviewed the most important changes in phpMyAdmin 4.5, but before drawing to a close, let's take a quick look at some other new features. I've got open the up-and-running database in phpMyAdmin 4.5. Let's browse the cars table. The last column, description, uses the text data type, so the value is normally truncated in the Browse tab. You can tell the truncated field by the little ellipsis at the end, but in phpMyAdmin 4.5, if you hover your mouse pointer over a truncated field, you get a little tool tip that tells you the number of characters in that field. So this one contains 155 characters, but if I hover over the next one, I don't get a tool tip. That's because this particular field hasn't been truncated. But, over the next one, it has been truncated, we see that that one is 161 characters in length. It's a small but nice enhancement.
