Exporting a database the quick way
- phpMyAdmin makes exporting data to an SQL file either as a backup or in preparation for transferring to another server both easy and flexibile. If you're willing to let phpMyAdmin make all the decisions, all it requires is a couple of clicks, and you're done. So let's see how it works. I'm currently in the homepage of phpMyAdmin, and the Export tab is at the top center. So if you click this from the homepage, it'll export databases from the current server. In other words, it will export the databases listed here on the left-hand side. Recent versions of phpMyAdmin don't export information_schema, mysql, or performance_schema, but if you're using an older version of phpMyAdmin, it might do so, so you need to check that. There are two export methods, Quick, which displays only the minimal options, and Custom, which displays all possible options.
