Enabling advanced features on MAMP for OS X

- To use all the features covered in this course, configuration storage must be enabled in phpMyAdmin. This is a dedicated user account with its own database, which stores details of table relations, bookmarks, history, and so on. At the time of recording, configuration storage is disabled in MAMP on Mac OS X. This video explains how to enable it, if necessary. The instructions apply also to any installation of phpMyAdmin on a Mac, although the location of files is likely to be different. You can tell whether configuration storage has been enabled by trying to create a new table in an existing database. Doesn't matter which database you use. I'm going to use up_and_running. Then, call the table test, and click Go. We don't actually need to define the table. Just scroll to the right, and if Comments is the last column that you can see on the right, that indicates that configuration storage is disabled.
