Creating a database
- Designing a database takes time and thought, so it's a good idea to work with a local instalation of phpMyAdmin, make sure everything works as intended, then transfer your database to a remote server. Let's see how to create a database in phpMyAdmin. Launch phpMyAdmin. Make sure you're in the homepage, click the home icon at the top left if necessary, and then select the Databases tab. It's the first one on the left at the top. This is where you create a database. All you need to do is to enter the database name in the database name field. If the name of the database on your remote server has already been decided, use that. If you're free to choose the name of the database, choose something that describes the data you plan to store. Although phpMyAdmin allows you to use spaces and special characters, it's best to use only letters, numbers, and the under-score.
