- All right, so we did the major pentatonic scales, sliding around the fret board. Now let's try the same thing with minor pentatonic scales. So, let's look at this in the key of A. Let's start out here for A minor pentatonic. There's your next root. Let's just stay with those notes and see if you can make some music out of it. Let's try this next example, here we go. One, two, three, four. All right, now let's try that same idea, sliding around the minor pentatonic scale through the multiple octaves that go diagonally across the fret board. So, here we go, let's start of of A. Then starting on our next A. And then starting on our next A. So, there we just have those octaves, those As, and we're just connecting the dots.
