(banjo music) - Hello, I'm Tony Trischka from ArtistWorks and I'm a banjo player. I've been playing the banjo for about 52 years as I'm doing this in 2016. And, I've done a bunch of recordings, and written a bunch of instruction books and tour a lot and I could go on for awhile, but I'll leave it right there. And, in course one we're going to be talking about just really the basics.
Just getting started holding the banjo, putting on some finger picks, and, some simple rolls or finger patterns, such as, (banjo music) that one right there, which is called the Osborne Roll. And some tunes and some chords and just kind of getting you off the ground with the banjo. Starting with the assumption that you don't know anything at all and you're just starting from scratch playing the instrument. So, I hope you're going to enjoy course one.
