- What you'll hear bluegrass bands do is just nice little two beat chop. ♫ Should auld acquaintance be to a D chord ♫ And never brought to mind Right, so I went from a G to a G7. It's not written in the music, on your way to the C. C, G, (hums) D, I just do a regular bluegrass D, no D7, and a C, and back to G. ♫ For auld Now you could add a C chord to this ♫ For That high E note, the last beat of the bar eight. It could make it a C chord, and back to a G chord on bar nine. ♫ And auld lang Bar eleven, you can add a G7, and Mike Marshall just dropped his pick. You're not actually seeing him pick it up right now, but ... On the way to bar twelve, a C chord, back to the G (hums) D chord, and a C chord. I sometimes play a D and go back to the G. C chord, D Chord, G. A couple things that are not actually written in the music.
