- Successful companies in the business world are built on the backs of great products and services that connect with consumers so strongly that they want to buy it. It doesn't matter whether you're selling cars or smart phones or headphones or wireless speakers, a better taxi ride or a ride into space. Successful products are products that sell. Most successful businesses start with a single product, and then they build a product line around it. If you're going to build a successful career in the music business, you're going to need great products as well. At the core of your product line, are great songs and great performances of those songs. Those songs and the performance of those songs generate income in a number of ways which become the foundation of your music business.
