- Over the last couple of years, I've gotten so many wonderful emails from young artists who were proud to tell me that they're releasing their single, or their EP or their album. I can feel that they've put their hearts and soul into it. But it sometimes feels to me like they expect that the world will just embrace the magic of their music all on their own. But the fact is, that's not the way it really works in the music business. Things don't happen by accident in the music business. You need to have a plan. And when it comes to selling a record, you're gonna need a plan too. In the record business, it's the marketing plan. And it guides everything that happens, from the time you start making that music until that last record is sold.
