Join Dani Beaumont for an in-depth discussion in this video Setup and exercise files, part of Muse Essential Training.
- [Instructor] If you have access to the exercise files for this course, you'll want to copy those to a convenient location on your own computer. I've copied mine right here on my desktop, and I'll show you what's included in the folder. I'll come over here and double-click on that folder icon, and one of the first things you'll notice is that there's an Assets folder. Throughout the course, you'll be building out a complete website from start to finish, and you'll need a variety of text and image content. Some of that content is here in the Assets folder. The rest of it is in something known as a Creative Cloud library.
I've built out a library for the project, and you can access it on your own machine by double-clicking on the Adobe Muse CC Library link here at the top. If you're a Windows user, you're going to want to click on the .mht file. If you're a Windows user, you'll want to click on the .mht file, and if you're a Mac user, on the .webloc file. I'll go ahead and click on that Mac link. Once the browser window opens up for that library, you'll notice there's a Follow button here towards the bottom.
When you click the Follow button, it's going to ask you to enter your Adobe ID, user name, and password to log in. From there, the Creative Cloud will download those assets to your own Creative Cloud Library folder for you to use within the Muse application. Let me go ahead and close that back out, and we'll look at the folder once again. Now if you for any reason have trouble accessing the Creative Cloud Library folder, which can happen with cloud computing, I've created a second set of assets that you can open locally on your own machine.
To take this approach, what you want to do is double-click on the Matcha_Elements_Local.mulib file here at the root of the folder. Muse will automatically open up the new assets, and if necessary, update them to the latest shipping version of Adobe Muse. You can then access these local files in the Muse Library panel. If you're taking this approach throughout this course, when I refer to the Matcha Elements Creative Cloud library, you'll want to be sure to instead look in the Muse Library panel for the Matcha_Elements folder.
And finally, I've created a series of start and finish files that each correspond to a specific chapter in the course. These are here in the Adobe Muse Files folder, and they start with Chapter Three.
