Adding assets to Motion

Adding media to your Motion projects is actually quite easy. Not only are we going to learn how to add assets, but I'm also going to show you how things are functioning under the hood. Let's get started by navigating in the File Browser, under Exercise Files and let's add a QuickTime file. Go to the Media folder and under Footage, drag the CityWater footage and drop it right onto your canvas, and you'll notice dynamic guides popping up, these yellow guides letting me know exactly when this is in the center of the screen. If you are not seeing those, you want to go up to the View menu and make sure Dynamic Guides is selected.

Now with that footage in the window, let's press Play in the transform controls, and you see Motion is playing the footage just fine. If I stop playback, let's go to the Inspector and look at some other options. With the video selected, notice we have an option for an Image tab.
