The template project created in After Effects was the bedrock for all of the work and all of the deliverables for Ghost Town Media's stage design for the band Linkin Park. Dennis Shinn, freelance artist, demonstrates the process of creating a deliverable that shows the stage in a 3D space, giving the band a good idea of what it will actually look like.

- The template project we created in After Effects…was pretty much the bedrock for all the work…and all the deliverables.…What we got from the lighting team,…basically, are all the technical specs…for the screens and for the layout.…We have the dimensions of the risers…for the size of the screens,…and even just kind of a general layout…of how the screens are going to be onstage,…where the specific band members are going to standing,…and then we get a layout that's basically a one-to-one…for exactly what they need as far as what's going…to be fed into their hardware.…
So we take this, which is this, basically, an image map…and what we did is recreated a template in After Effects…and so the artist can basically just work…and they're basically looking…at all the screens at the same time.…The way that that looks in After Effects,…we started with a generic UV map…and this is just to show us kind of that things…are lining up and this is fed…into this work source…and so you can see from what we had here,…which is the original image map…
