- [Voiceover] Now that we've customized our Moodle profile and settings, we're ready to begin building our first course. In this chapter, we're going to take a look at how to build a course, including how to customize the layout, adjust the settings, add content, and more. Before we do any of that, we'll start out with a blank course shell. Now let's take a look at what that means. Right now, I'm on my site dashboard, and I'm going to select the 21st Century Communication course that I've been assigned the role of teacher by my IT administrator. I'll click here, and this brings up the empty course shell. Now this is the course dashboard that students will see when they join the course, so we want to make sure to get this set up the way we like it. I also want to mention, again, that your site administrator has likely created a default course shell that looks different than this one.
