Join Mary Cooch for an in-depth discussion in this video Setting up messaging, part of Moodle 2.5 Essential Training.
Moodle has a built in messaging system which, if your administrator has…enabled it can be very useful…for communicating with students and other colleagues.…In this video we'll look at how to make it easy to send and receive messages.…So in our course, with the editing turned on which we do either by clicking…the button, top right, or in the administration…block by clicking the link, turn editing on.…We are then going to add the Messages block.…And we do this by scrolling down to the Add…a Block and then from the drop down selecting Messages.…
This provides an easy way of seeing who…sent you a message and locating people to message.…Blocks are added to the bottom by default.…Although as we've seen, we can click on them to move them.…So we already have a message from our admin.…And we see that we have one message, and we can click on it to access…it, and to reply to it.…Clicking the button Send a Message, we'll send our reply.…Messages quite often appear as a pop-up at the bottom right of the screen.…We also have the option to search for contacts by clicking the Search button.…
