Depending on your teaching situation, you might not always…be able to talk to your class face to face.…Indeed you might even be running a course entirely online.…Although forums are very good for discussion,…the responses are not always in real time.…And it can be useful to have those discussions…at the same time as others, i e synchronously.…We're going to set up a chatroom so we can do just that.…So, we need to have the editing turned on,…which we've done by clicking the button, top right, or…in the administration block clicking the link turn editing on.…
Then in the section where we want to add our…chat, I'm going to add it in my collaborative work section.…We click the link add an activity or resource.…This brings up Moodles activity chooser.…And when we click the radio button next to chat, we see…on the right some information about how to use chat in your teaching.…We then click…the button at the bottom, Add, to go to the set up screen.…Or if you've used chat a few times you simply need…to click the Radio button twice to get straight in there.…
