Join Mary Cooch for an in-depth discussion in this video Restricting access to activities, part of Moodle 2.5 Essential Training.
Usually, in a Moodle course students can see all…the activities and access them in any order they wish.…You might want to restrict this, however, and force the order of access.…In this video, we're going to explore how to control the student's…learning path by the use of…an advanced Moodle feature called Conditional Activities.…And the first point to note is that…this advanced feature must be enabled by your administrator.…And so if you…don't see the items covered in this video then ask them to enable it.…Then we need have the editing turned on, which we've done either by…clicking the button, top right or in the link in the administration block.…
And then we'll take a look, for example, at how…you can restrict a section or an activity by dates.…So, if we scroll down to our assessment and evaluation section…for example and click on the icon to edit that summary section.…We've got the option, to restrict access.…Clicking that to expand it, shows us that…we could actually allow access from a certain date.…Before that date they wouldn't be able to access this particular section.…
