Join Mary Cooch for an in-depth discussion in this video Giving access to private files, part of Moodle 2.5 Essential Training.
Every user in Moodle, has their own…personal file storage area known as private files.…This is useful if you're a teacher and you'd like to store documents privately,…and only display them to your students on the course page when you're ready.…And it's useful also for your students.…If they start some work during the school day, save it, finish…it at home and then upload it to you later in the evening.…So, you can access your private files in a number…of ways.…First of all, if we go to the Navigation block, and…click My Profile, we have the link to My Private Files there.…
Also, as a course teacher, you can add a My Private…Files block, so your students can have easy access to it.…To do that, we need to turn the…editing on, either by clicking the button, top right.…Or in the administration block by clicking the…link, Turn editing on and then we scroll…down to the Add a block option, and from the drop down we choose My private files.…We can then move this block to a location on…a course where it's easy for our students to see.…
