Embedding widgets into your course

A widget is a little bit of code that appears in a box on blogs and other sites. It might show you the weather, links to books on Amazon, provide a quick poll or a Google map or in the case we're going to use, display a talking avatar to introduce the course. Widgets are made on other websites and to embed them in Moodle we need to grab their code. In this video, we'll take a look how. We first of all need to have the editing turned on, which we've done, either by clicking the button top-right or in the administration block, clicking the link. And then we're going to add a block called an HTML block. And to do this, we scroll down and from the drop-down menu Add a block. Choose HTML.
