The Moodle learning management system allows you to customize your course settings including the look and layout as well as the different features and functions. Be sure to customize your course settings before inviting students into your course, in order to ensure that the course is easy for students to navigate.
- [Voiceover] Before we start editing the different sections…or units, and adding content to our course,…let's take a look at how we can edit…the settings of the course.…Now, in order to do this, I first need to make sure…that editing is turned on.…So on the right-hand side, at the top,…I'm going to turn editing on.…Now on the left-hand side, in the Administration block,…I'm going to navigate to the link that says, Edit Settings.…And from here, we can edit the settings of the course.…First, we have our Course full name,…next is the Course short name,…and this is a good example of where we can use…Moodle's inline help.…
If we're not sure what the short name means,…we can click on the inline Help icon,…and it tells us that the short name of the course…is displayed in the navigation…and is used in the subject line of course email messages.…So I have that entered into there.…We can decided whether we want our course…to be visible or hidden.…I can click hidden if it's one that…I do not yet want students to see,…and then once it's done, change that to Show.…
