By default, Moodle allows us to grade out of…anything up to a hundred, or to use letter grades.…However, we might want to use our own scales, such as…pass, merit, distinction, or excellent, good, satisfactory, poor and so on.…In this video, we'll learn how to…create custom scales, and apply them to assignments.…To do this we need to go into…the administration block and click the link Grades.…This then…takes us to the default grader report and then we go to either…the drop down menu or you might have tabs and select Scales > View.…
What we see next depends on what the administrator has set for standard scales.…A standard scale is one that can be used site wide in any course.…As a teacher, we can only create custom scales,…that means just to use in our own courses.…And so we click the button Add…a New Scale and then in the screen that comes up we're going to give it a name.…The name is important only to us, to remind us what it's about.…So let's just call it Film scale.…And then, in the scale box here, we have the wording that we want for each of…
