Once a schedule has been shared with a team, staff members and managers both need to be able to view that schedule. If you need to see which shifts you are working—or if you want to get a view of the entire team schedule—this video can help by showing you how to check the schedule on the desktop application and the mobile app.
- In this movie, we will see how to simply view your schedule both on a computer and the mobile app. Whether you are a scheduling manager or a normal staff member, this is how you view the schedule that was shared by the manager. In this movie, I am signed in as Stewart, who is a normal staff member. I'm not signed in as the scheduling manager that we saw in the previous chapter. So let's take a look at my schedule. I need to go to the shifts tool, so I'll go to the more button on the left side bar, and I'll go to the shifts tool from here. And this is the schedule for my entire team. Now it is a good idea to take a quick look at this menu in the top left, just to make sure you're in the right team. And it looks really similar to what the manager sees when they sign into Teams. But as a normal staff member, I do not see any of the tools for building or sharing the schedule. If I double click on an empty day, nothing happens. I cannot create a new shift. If I double click on an existing shift, I just see information or details about that shift. I cannot make any changes. And of course, I do not see the button up in the top right corner to share the schedule. So essentially, this is a read-only view for staff members. They see the schedule that was created by the manager. Now of course, you can toggle between the day view, the week view, and the month view, and you have buttons over here on the left to jump forward and backward through the calendar. And you can scroll up ad down, and you can see all of the shifts that have been scheduled for your entire team. Alright, so that's it for the desktop application. But, you can also view your schedule on the mobile app as well. Here on my iPhone, I'll open up the Teams app, and I do want you to see I'm signed in as Stewart here as well. So we need to go to the shifts tool, so I'll swipe up from the tool bar at the bottom and tap on shifts. Once again, it's a good idea to go to the menu up at the top and make sure you're in the right team. But here on this screen, you can see a list of your upcoming shifts. You can tap on any of these shifts to get more information, you can see which team and which group this shift is scheduled in, as well as any other notes that may have been saved with it. When you're finished, you can tap the back button up in the top left. Now, you may want to see a calendar view, or you might want to see shifts that have been scheduled for your team members. For that, you just need to tap on the button in the top-right corner. That takes you to the calendar view. Now, I'm going to tap on this button in the top right, not the x in the top right, but the button right next to it will expand so you can see the entire calendar. All of the days that have a dot on them are days that have shifts scheduled. Now the days that have the circle with the line through it, those are days when I'm on vacation. So I can tap on any one of these days to see all of the shifts that are scheduled for that day. And of course, I can tap on any of these shifts to see more information about those shifts. When I'm finished, I can just tap the back button up in the top left. And when you are finished with the calendar view, you can tap the x in the top right to go back to this regular screen. So these are your options to view your schedule on both a computer and the mobile app on a smart phone or tablet. This may be pretty simple, but viewing your work schedule is one of the most important features in the shifts tool in Teams.
