- [Bonnie Biafore] Hi, I'm Bonnie Biafore. In this Project tip I'll explain when you want to use the Fixed Cost field to track ancillary project costs. And we'll look at how to do that. Now, first of all, Cost Resources and the Fixed Cost field can both track ancillary costs. But they work with different project features. So your decision about which one to use could be really easy. The big thing is Earned Value. Cost Resources don't roll up into Earned Value fields, so if you use Earned Value to evaluate your project performance, then you want to use the Fixed Cost field for your ancillary costs. So that's what we're going to do here. In my project I'm looking at the Gantt chart view, and I've just got the regular entry table. But I want to look at costs, so I'm going to head to the View tab. And then in the Data section, click Tables and choose Cost. Notice that the column right after task name is Fixed Cost. So if…
