Windows Deployment Services (WDS)

- One of the other fantastic tools of the trade that we can use in our deployment story is WDS, or Windows Deployment Services. Now, the great thing about Windows Deployment Services, it's an installable role on our Windows Server 2012 environments. Now, we're at 2012 R2, depending on what version you have. The great things about WDS, it's actually been around for quite some time. If you've been working with Windows Server for awhile, you might have remembered its original name, which is Remote Installation Services, or RIS. I'll show you in another video how to actually install and configure the service, but the nice thing about WDS, it's a very powerful tool that even of itself could just be the entire deployment answer for your organization.
