Requirements for using RemoveMSI
- [Instructor] When you use the Office Deployment Tool to install Microsoft Office you provide an XML file that acts as a set of instructions as to how office should be installed. Now one of the instructions that you can include in this XML file is remove MSI. Remove MSI tells the Office Deployment Tool that you want to uninstall whatever edition of Microsoft Office might currently be installed on the machine. Now in order to use the remove MSI instruction, there are a few requirements that have to be met. Specifically you're going to have to be running version 16.0 .10306 .33602 or higher of the Office Deployment Tool. The second requirement is that you have to be installing version 1803 or higher of Microsoft Office ProPlus. And then finally the computer that you're installing Office onto has to be running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or higher. So if you're running Windows 8 or Windows 10 you're good to go.
