- [Instructor] As part of Microsoft's process of updating the cloud, AIP has a deprecation notice. This means that in order for Microsoft to provide a new unified and streamlined experience, the Azure Information Protection client or the classic one, and the label management being done in the Azure Portal is going to be deprecated, as of the specified date. This timeframe allows all current AIP customers, like yourselves, if you're using them, to transition into the new, unified labeling solution, which is now using Microsoft Information Protection Unified Labeling. Now, back in 2016, when the Azure Information Protection client was initially released, it was the first Microsoft product that introduced labeling capabilities. The Azure Information Protection blade in the Azure portal replaced the old Azure Rights Management interface to allow management of labels.
