- [Instructor] Normally, when you use the Office Deployment Tool to install Microsoft Office, setup will go out to the internet and download the installation files. Now that's fine if you only need to install Office on a few PCs, but that behavior isn't necessarily desirable if you have a lot of PCs to install Office onto, because if all of your PCs were going out to the internet and downloading the exact same configuration files at the same time, you're probably going to put a serious strain on your internet bandwidth. So a better solution is to tell setup to download the installation files and then you can install Office from a local source. So let's take a look at how that works. Here you can see I've created an XML file called my configuration dot XML. Let me go ahead and open this up.
