The Office Customization Tool
- [Instructor] One of the most commonly used tools for deploying Microsoft Office is the Office Deployment Tool. When you use the Office Deployment Tool, there is an XML file that goes along with it and this and XML file provides instructions for how Microsoft Office is to be installed. Now there are a variety of ways that you can create this XML file. Some people like to create the file manually, other people like to take one of the example files that comes with the Office Deployment Tool and edit that file to meet their needs, or you can even base the XML file off of an existing XML file. You have a variety of choices. But for people who don't like writing XML code, there is an alternative, and that alternative is to use the Office Customization Tool. The Office Customization Tool is a web based tool, so you use it through your browser, and it provides a GUI front end that keeps you from having to write XML code.
