- [Instructor] In this exercise we will investigate how to define and modify your border set up to take advantage of the automated plotting techniques learned in this course. Open the file for chapter seven, Preparing a Border. One of the standard decisions that must be determined is the actual size of the border graphics. In a one-to-one world, the border is defined in actual paper size inches. In this example the border is an ANSI D, 34 by 22 inch paper size. Using the one-to-one scale factor, the border is defined in inches. This is my preference, since it makes sense to use a one-to-one plot scale when using sheets. Using this size border requires users to scale the drawings down into the border on a sheet model. Or scale the border up around the project in a design model. This size requires users to use the multiplication factor of 12 when performing the scaling. When printing to one inch equals 50 feet, the scale factor is 12 time 50, or 600.
