- [Woman] Now let's take a look at how to use…the fence selection tools in MicroStation.…Continue using the file for Chapter Eight…using Selection Tools.dgn.…And using View Groups, select the Fences model.…MicroStation has another tool that can be used…for selecting groups of elements.…And it is called the Fence tool.…I honestly rarely use the Fence tool any longer…since I find the Selection tool much easier to use.…But many Legacy users in MicroStation…still use the Fence tool more than the Selection tool.…
So I feel it is important that you understand both tools…so that you can make an informed decision…on which one you prefer to use.…First, a little history.…The Fence tool was available years before…the Selection tool was added to MicroStation.…I also think it's important for you to understand…the difference between the fence in AutoCAD…and the fence in Microstation.…So what is a MicroStation fence?…A fence is primarily used for selecting and clipping things.…The fence is a screen element…that does not really exist, except on the screen.…
