- [Instructor] In this exercise, we will look at how to use the Windows Print Device to print directly to our default Windows printer. Continue using the file using the print dialog and using view groups, verify that the print overview model is active. Using the printer and paper size section of the dialog, hit the magnifying glass and select printer.pltcfg. The print dialog's title bar will display your default Windows printer. A Windows icon is added to the dialogue, allowing you to select a different Windows printer, and a Full setting is provided to override the default margins. Using the Full setting extends the printable area to the maximum area allowed. Without the Full setting you might get a large margin, maybe a half inch. I always leave the Full setting turned on when using Windows printers. The paper dropdown list displays the paper sizes available with this Windows printer.
