To be exact: Aligning objects
- [Instructor] When you're working with multiple objects, it's critical to understand how to align them properly in relation to each other or to the ground plane. So we have a bunny here; I'm going to say view to show grid. We can see that this bunny is not aligned to the bottom work plane. Now this doesn't really matter unless you're 3D printing; it can be in any orientation, but it's usually good to align it to some known point. And this grid is a known point. So we can go to edit to align and we get all sorts of align options right here. Usually it's on base point which is essentially the bottom of the mesh. And we would say base point and translate and rotate destination Y up. So what this does is, base point is the bottom of the mesh, and world origin is this little red dot right here with Y facing up. Remember in Meshmixer Y is the up direction. When you export these for 3D printing, usually Z is the up direction, but in Meshmixer, Y is always up. So we can choose base point;…
